My general interest in programming and the subject. I am motivated by how much there is still to learn in the field.

Learning new things and the opportunity to solve problems.

Money, various challenges, learning new things, and personal development. It's also motivating when you achieve something concrete, like completing a component or any visible result.
Elsa:
My dream is to work in both commercial and technical roles. So what motivates me is that at BeanBakers I can combine both of my interests by doing marketing tasks at an IT company.
How would you describe the work environment at BeanBakers?

The work environment here is really nice, especially since we got the new office with lots of refreshments and pleasant lounge areas. All the employees are also very friendly – I can talk to them about work-related matters as well as anything else.

My colleagues are really nice, no unnecessary drama or arrogant people around. I like the new office and especially the selection of snacks.

The work environment is easygoing, and it has been enjoyable working here.

Miika:
The fact that I've been able to do things in my job that I truly enjoy and I have been given the freedom to make programming-related choices myself – especially since we started a new project from scratch.
Mirek:
Probably the fact that you are seen as equal to your colleagues. People don’t doubt your competence just because you are a junior.
Marcus:
Probably the fact that there's a relaxed group of people around and not as much bureaucracy. Additionally, help is readily available if something is on your mind.
Nuutti:
The chance to work remotely, along with flexible hours brings different kinds of freedom to the job.
Elsa:
The best part is the friendly colleagues, nice workspaces, and the opportunity for remote work. Furthermore, the job gives me an excellent chance to closely observe software development work, as I'm interested in it myself.
What do you do in your free time?
Miika:
I swim and go mountain biking whenever possible. If I weren't here for summer work, I'd probably do more coding in my free time as well.
